Instagram, a popular social media network with over one billion monthly subscribers has recently made changes to their interface.
According to users, they have seen changes that is similar to another social media app (tiktok)
A post by user that gained over 1.8 million likes, urged management to bring back Instagram. The aim is to bring management’s attention to what users say. He said “make Instagram Instagram. (stop trying to be tiktok I just want to see cute photos of my friends).”
A response from the head of Instagram poppedup of the complaints. According to him, they are working on few things to make Instagram a better experience.
“I believe that more and more of Instagram is going to become video over time” He said.
He added that the world is changing they are going to change along with it. He ended that despite the changes, Instagram aims to keep some features of the old interface.
Expert has also said the new interface may look similar to that of tiktok, yet they are different system all together.
Tiktok a is not a social network, He said.
“If Meta, which runs most social networks, says, ‘We can’t keep up, we can’t monetize this successfully anymore, we’re going to change to a discovery engine’ — I think the implications of this are going to be huge over the next two or three years,” he said.
