Socrate Sarfo, a well-known Ghanaian filmmaker, and Director for Creative Arts at the National Commission on Culture (NCC) in Ghana, recently made headlines when he made a controversial statement about Ghanaian Award Wining Act Stonebwoy.
According to Sarfo, he said that he may fall asleep if he listens to Stonebwoy’s music. While this statement caused a stir among music fans in Ghana and beyond, it also highlighted some important issues about the intersection of music and personal taste.
However, Sarfo’s statement also raises some interesting questions about the nature of personal taste and how it affects our perception of music. For example, why might Sarfo find Stonebwoy’s music boring or unappealing, while others find it exciting and engaging? Is it simply a matter of personal preference, or are there more complex factors at play?
Stonebwoy’s 5th Dimension Album” comprises a total of 17 tracks and features guest appearances from numerous renowned artists from Ghana and beyond, including Stormzy, Davido, Shaggy, Angelique Kidjo, Mereba, Maphorisa, Jaz Karis, Oxlade, Tiwa Savage, and Dexta Daps.
The album is slated for release on April 28th, 2023.
