Bigboi Collinz’s ‘Saara’ Embodies the Spirit of Self-Actualization

Written by Matilda Owusu

Bigboi Collinz projects in his new jam, “Saara”, the need for us as humans to meet our self actualization needs as propounded by Abraham Maslow on his pyramid of needs.

Self-actualizing people are self-aware, concerned with personal growth, less concerned with the opinions of others, and interested in fulfilling their potential.

Using himself as the persona of the story, Bigboi Collinz explains how he is content with his life, live life the way and manner he deems fit without consulting anyone. He furthered that apart from God’s guidance, he does not heed to any human form.

Incorporating Prophet Kofi Oduro’s most famous sound bit, “Gyai gyimii no” in the local twi palance, to wit, “Stop misbehaving” to shame naysayers who prive so much into his affairs.
